Oppo has been working on the F31 series behind the scenes, and we recently learned there are three devices in the lineup. The F-catalog usually taps out at the Oppo F31 Pro level, but this time, they’ve planned to introduce an Oppo F31 Pro Plus model as a third member in the family. A leaker on X shared some details about it.
The leak not only confirmed the existence of three models but also exposed a few details about each version. There’s obviously a vanilla Oppo F31 model on the way, claimed to include a 7000mAh battery and 80W wired charging system among its accentuated features.
Oppo F31 will be the cheapest option among them, and the X leaker Abhishek Yadav believes it’s running on a Dimensity 6300 platform. Sadly, that marks a downgrade for it. The older Oppo F29 brought a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, which scores almost 32% higher on AnTuTu (scores from NanoReview).
Some fans will be offended. But unless you work with specific applications, both appear to be capable midrange chips. The new Oppo 5G mobile is a class above, so naturally, the SoC gets upgraded to a 4nm (2.5GHz) Dimensity 7300. The setup seems familiar, since the current Oppo F29 Pro uses the same platform.
If the leak is grounded, the same 7000mAh battery will be featured on the Pro version. The Oppo F31 Pro Plus, on the other hand, is an entirely new breed for this series. It’s hard to tell which direction the company takes with its hardware.
The leaker claims that F31 Pro Plus is the only one on the team with a Snapdragon chip, specifically, a 7 Gen 3. It’s wired to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage and could draw energy from the same 7000mAh cell as the other siblings in line.
The leaker narrowed down the launch date to mid-September. There’s no official word to back the leaker’s claim, so take all these details with a healthy dose of sarcasm until we have verification. Keep an eye on the news for more follow-up stories.
