A new high-end Oppo phone silently launched in China today with a 7000mAh battery and a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip. The newcomer is called “Oppo A6 Max,” aptly named to signal the A series foray into the semi-flagship category. Here’s everything you need to know about this device.
This handset is built around a 6.8” screen, OLED 1.5K resolution, with a 120Hz refresh rate. The entire premise for this device is over-the-top specs that fans aren’t used to seeing on the mid-range A series. The panel gets eye-searingly bright at 1600 nits HBM. A Crystal Shield Glass keeps the display safe.
The selfie camera on top of the display is 32MP. Moreover, we have two working cameras on the back: a 50MP main and a 2MP monochrome depth mapper that helps with portrait shots. The third is for decoration, and you can use the LED Flash for nighttime photos.
The camera setup on Oppo's latest A model sits on a circular island that goes well with its Streamer White and Rock Mist Blue color options. A flat profile and nearly bezel-free screen give this phone a premium look, offbeat to their normal A series forerunners.
This newcomer also pushes the cell capacity to the next stage. Many Chinese brands are phasing out 5000mAh and 6000mAh batteries. Oppo A6 Max kicks off with a 7000mAh battery, miraculously sitting in a 7.7mm build. The maximum input it supports is 80W, though the company’s proprietary superVOOC charger.
This configuration will give you 50% of recharge in just 24 minutes. That huge battery powers a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip, the star of the show, running Oppo A6 Max. It’s just a class below Qualcomm’s SD 8s Gen 3 SoC and clocks to 2.63GHz speed on its Kyro Prime core. The phone’s 5200mm² vapor chamber keeps it cool.
It’s IP69 rated, 360-degree water jet resistant, and rigorously tested by SGS for high temperature operability. The Oppo A6 Max is officially priced at 1,599 Yuan (~PKR 63,000), an absolute bargain for a device with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip, 8GB RAM, and 256GB storage.
