Oppo is secretly working on a new A series project. We saw reports on the internet talking about a device known as “Oppo A6 5G.” The newcomer has since appeared on a Chinese certification platform, confirming it’s more than a rumor. Here’s what TENAA reveals about Oppo A6.
The listing comes with design renders. You get the front look, the back, and the side profile view on TENAA. By all accounts, the new Oppo A6 5G appears to be a Reno 14F knock-off with a few differences in specs. We’ll talk about them in a minute. Keep reading.
The model code for this device is “PLS120,” clearly a successor to the Chinese Oppo A5 (PKQ110). TENAA doesn’t address it with the product name for obvious reasons, but the leaker who found the listing seems convinced that it’s an Oppo A6 5G. With that out of the way, here comes the juicy part.
This Oppo latest 5G model carries a 6830mAh cell, which could be rated and advertised as a full 7000mAh upon release. Its charging speeds are unclear at the moment. There’s a memory card slot on the Oppo A6 with 2TB expandable storage. It might prove useful if you go for the 8/128GB memory trim.
TENAA reveals the whole collection: 8GB or 12GB physical RAM, paired with 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB of built-in storage options. In other details, we also found its display specifications. Apparently, it brings an AMOLED mid-size 6.57” screen at a 1080p FHD+ resolution. This panel has support for ~1billion colors.
If these display figures sound familiar to you, it’s because they are exactly the same as Oppo’s Reno 14F 5G. Chipset and cameras are a different story, though. The newcomer seems to have a 16MP selfie shooter on the front. Facing rearward are 50MP main and 2MP depth sensors. This setup does not include an 8MP ultrawide lens from the Reno 14F.
They also swapped out the chip. Oppo A6 5G showed up on TENAA with an unnamed 2.4GHz SoC, which we suspect could be the popular Dimensity 6300 platform. There’s an optical fingerprint ID here and dual-SIM support. The newcomer is headed to China in a few short weeks. Keep watching the news to stay up-to-date about its progress.
