The budget-friendly Oppo A5 2020, introduced last fall (confusing naming antics, by the way) is to be succeeded by Oppo A6 2020 in September, according to 91Mobiles. Citing its sources, the publications don’t reveal the core specifications but it does report the pricing details for the device.

The A6 2020 specifics have yet to surface but expect big hardware upgrades from the A6: a stronger, faster processor, better camera, and a finer display. And it’ll start from a pocket-friendly Oppo price tag of $134 (~23,000 PKR, without taxes).

To recount, the A5 2020 by Oppo featured a 6.5” HD+ display with a drop-notch carved into it, delivering an 89% screen-to-body ratio, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The 3D aesthetic on the back is rounded off by a polished, iridescent design that comes in the aptly-named Dazzling White and Mirror Black editions.

Three of Oppo A6 2020's four rear-facing cameras are laid out inside a pill-shaped housing in the middle, the fourth one flanking it bound inside another pill. It features a 12MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a pair of 2MP portrait lenses. Right below the camera array, there’s a fingerprint scanner.

The A5 is powered by Snapdragon 665, up to 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and a 5,000 mAh battery. The battery is capable of reverse charging, so the device can double as a battery bank. Where it shipped with the previous-gen Android-9-based ColorOS 6, the Oppo A6 2020 should boot to the latest ColorOS 7 (built on Android 10). It remains to be seen if the upcoming A6 will debut with one of the next-gen MediaTek platforms or stick to its Qualcomm roots.
