October 15th is near. That’s when ZTE intends to launch the Nubia RedMagic 12 Pro+ in China. But the newcomer’s design has been revealed prior to its debut. We have the full color set in preview from the company itself. They’ve even begun pre-orders for the gaming phone.
The design has changed a bit. They obviously went for a softer look this time. The sides look tapered now, so they won’t dig into your palms anymore. The corners also appear more rounded. Even the shoulder triggers changed shape to shed the aggressive look.
You can make a little more sense of the camera array now, which is good. There’s clearly a fan at the bottom. Two lenses sit diagonally to each other, and a ring LED is at the top. By the way, they’ve mixed three colors for the handset this time, instead of two.
Transparent Dark Night seems to be the main color, and Transparent Silver Wing is the second option. We did see the same two finishes on the RedMagic 11 Pro+. Those two aren’t new. They’ll unveil a Transparent Ice Blue color option on the RedMagic 12 Pro+.
The screen is still flat, obviously. ZTE doesn’t get enough credit for it, but they’ve managed to trim the screen bezels down to 0.96mm. The screen-to-body ratio is even higher. And yes, there’s no punch hole interrupting the view either.
The camera is still tucked away under the screen. The three cooling systems still work together. A cooling fan pushes the air over a vapor chamber. And we have a looped liquid-cooling setup to tame the chip’s heat. They’ve now put a Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip on their flagship gaming phone.
The gaming phone will get even better performance out of the SoC than any other phone on the planet, except maybe the S27 Ultra. The FPS will stay consistent under full load. The cooling system won’t let the chip choke from thermal throttling. We can’t wait to see its benchmark scores. Keep watching the news for updates.
