Nothing Phone 4a Design Revealed with Glyph Bar, New Color, and Camera Refresh

The Glyph has been redesigned for the Nothing Phone A series yet again. This year’s (4a) lineup will make its debut on March 5th. And that’s the official date confirmed by the company CEO himself. Some details about these phones were teased already. But they’ve now shared the Nothing Phone (4a) design.

Nothing just teased its new Glyph Bar on the Nothing Phone (4a). It was an official post on X from the company account. There’s a single render on this post. And the description says Phone (4a), March 5th launch, 10:30 GMT. That’s their whole launch schedule, by the way. And the venue is obviously London.

This newcomer will have an exposed back plate. So the device doesn’t really break the harmony with Nothing’s older transparent products. There are now 6 square LEDs next to the camera Island. They are calling that LED stack a Glyph Bar.

Reports say the Glyph lights are 40% brighter. And there’s no light bleed. Nothing new A model user will feel the difference in a snap. We can’t tell how functional this kind of LED interface could be for the normal user. But we are definitely growing curious.

By the way, the red recording LED also lights up below those white LEDs. It is the basic Phone (4a) with three cameras, and it has the bump that matches the older Phone (3a). They’ve certainly changed the background elements a bit. That’s probably why the handset will look visually different to our eyes.

Update: As we write this post, the company just uploaded a 12-minute YouTube video that gave us a breakdown of the handset’s design. The Phone (4a) seems to have two colors. One is just your normal dual-tone White paint. The other has the same base color with a Pink tint.

They were pretty detail-oriented on what went into the whole design process for the Phone (4a). Nothing team was literally “transparent” about why they chose Pink Tint. They even showed how the Glyph Bar works. And we found exactly what’s so different about the camera bump this time.
