Here's your first look at the upcoming Nokia 7.3 — which didn’t join the Nokia 2.4 and Nokia 3.4 at the recent HMD event. The phone's expected release date is still anyone’s guess but the ever-reliable phone leaker @OnLeaks, in collaboration with @IpeeWorld brings us high-quality mockups of the mid-range phone from Nokia.
Right off the bat, you’ll find that HMD Global isn’t veering off from their design language. There’s a familiar donut camera bump on the back of the Nokia 7.3 and below it, a capacitive fingerprint scanner. It has chamfered edges, rounded corners, and a glossy, reflective finish to it.
Flip the phone over, and you’ll find a hole punch in the corner, replacing the notch the Nokia 7.2 had. The manufacturer has shaved off the bezels to the very edges and given the front of the phone a boxier aesthetic. It’ll be available in silver and blue colorways.
A quad-camera is laid out inside the chrome-ring housing. Unlike the compact LED and triple-lens array the 7.2 had, the new revamped Nokia 7.3 features the LED flash outside the camera plate. While it retains its satin glass-like finish, the back panel is rumored to be plastic this time — a downgrade from the Gorilla Glass sandwich seen on the 7.2. At 8.2mm, the new phone is also ever-so-slightly slimmer than its predecessor. overall it'll provide value to the Nokia price list and there’s also a 3.5mm headphone jack on top.
It’s speculated to run on the latest edition of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 600 series — the Snapdragon 690 mobile platform. It’s the first chipset in this lineup to come with a 5G modem baked into it, making the Nokia 7.3 the second 5G phone from the brand. To power this hardware, the Nokia 7.3 might have a 4,000 mAh battery that charges over 18W.
While there’s no concrete launch date available yet, we predict the phone would go official before the year ends. Perhaps, alongside the much-anticipated Nokia 9.3 PureView.
