Nokia 5.4 Could Go Official Soon; Specification Sheet and Color Options Leaked

In late November, NokiaPowerUser published a report, speculating and detailing the upcoming entry-level phone, Nokia 5.4. It noted that the device is launching sometime in December. While HMD Global has yet to make the official, folks over at MySmartPrice leaked the entire specification sheet for the phone.

Let’s start with the phone’s internals. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 662 is at the heart of the Nokia 5.4. The chipset came out in January this year — upgraded from the two-generation old Snapdragon 665 that powers Nokia 5.3. It works with 4GB of memory and 128GB of expandable storage.

While number-crunching is faster with this version, Nokia 5.4 still lacks fast charging (HMD Global has been lagging behind the competition). And since the 4000 mAh battery is on the low-end too, the battery performance will be underwhelming.

Nokia 5.4 has a 6.39” IPS LCD screen — shrunken slightly from the 6.5” panel on its predecessor but overall it's a nice addition to the Nokia phones catalog. It produces a 720P resolution and has a hole-punch to house a 16MP selfie camera. A quad-camera on the back is highlighted by a 48MP primary camera and a 5MP wide-angle shooter. Plus, a predicable 2MP depth and macro duo.

Nokia 5.4 boots to pure Android10, free of any bloat or ads — a feature you’d be hardpressed to find in its competition. The USB interface is Type-C, and a headphone jack is present. So is a fingerprint scanner for biometric security.

The phone comes in Blue and Purple colors. WhatMobile puts its expected price somewhere between Rs. 33,000 to 37,000.
