Apple’s latest affordable smartphone, the iPhone SE 2022, dropped on schedule yesterday. It was officially announced in a press release. Plus, the listing on the Apple website details the specs, pricing, and availability.

As the rumor mill had predicted, Apple has once again repurposed the iPhone 8 body for the new iPhone SE. The new A15 Bionic engine inside the iPhone SE 2022 offers 5G and lightning-fast performance. It’s the same chip you’ll find inside the iPhone 13 series. The latest iOS 15 powers the iPhone SE for longer battery life and better photography. It’s compatible with fast wired and wireless Qi charging.

Compact displays are rare in this modern world. But if you’re in the camp that prefers small phones, the iPhone SE rocks a tiny 4.7” screen. It features fat bezels, a home button with Touch ID, and an IP67 rating against dust and water.

The casing is made of glass and heavy-duty aluminum rails, toughened with Ceramic Shield on the front and back panels of the new iPhone device for 2022. You can pick from (PRODUCT) RED, Starlight, and midnight colors.

The 12-megapixel f/1.8 wide camera packs the latest and greatest photography features that Apple offers, including Smart HDR, Deep Fusion, Portrait Mode, and Photographic Styles. Apple’s multi-frame image processing delivers excellent exposure in lowlight and natural skin tones. The image signal processor inside the A15 Bionic promises noise-free videos in lowlight with improved skin tones and white balance.

The iPhone SE 2022 comes in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB storage variants. All three models will hit store shelves in 30 countries on March 18. The base edition starts from $429 (~ Rs. 76,600.)
