Infinix Note Edge hit the Pakistani market in the second-last week of April, so it’s still quite fresh in the segment. If you read the headline and visited this post, you’ve probably thought of buying this device at one point. Of course, the Note Edge has its Pros and cons, like any other affordable midranger. Here are the reasons you should consider this handset, and a few reasons to ignore it.
Design and Form Factor for Comfort
It’s only a fraction of users who care more about performance than the design. But we know many of you will choose this device because of how it looks and feels. The Note Edge is pretty thin. It’s actually a 7.2mm curved design. The screen melts into the edges.
The chamfered backplate has an ergonomic feel. And the corners are also rounded, so they don’t dig into your palms all the time. By the way, it’s only one of the few devices that has a rear RGB ring LED and a side AI button. These are some of the things we’ve come to expect from flagships. But you are only paying a fraction if you pick up the Note Edge. By the way, here is the Infinix rate list that features a wide range of new smartphones which are focused on 5G connectivity.
Flagship 3D Curved Display, But Way Cheaper
We’ve seen a fair share of Oppo and Vivo phones at the same price that have ugly 720p IPS displays. Some of you will be repulsed by what they offer and lean toward the Note Edge. This newcomer has a subtle 3D curved AMOLED at 6.78 inches. It’s also a 1.5K resolution panel with 100% DCI-P3 color gamut.
The brightness will go to 1600 nits (peak at 4500 nits). And you have the 120Hz refresh rate. The black bezels are all symmetrical. So it feels like a true flagship device at the front. Again, it would be foolish to avoid the Note Edge when others in the price range only get you an IPS LCD or a notched AMOLED.
Custom XOS Skin with Liquid Glass Effect
The clanky XOS is gone. They’ve completely turned around their custom OS with the new XOS 16. The Note Edge was the first to grab this new build. The animations are more precise and smoother. Of course, the light and blur effects put up the facade of iOS 26 liquid glass. Those who never got to experience the original thing, this is as close as you get.
This OS is definitely not what it used to be. There are three OS updates on the way for the Note Edge. It’s not exactly beating Apple or Samsung. But you now have peace of mind with a longer software support path.
Larger Battery and Better Storage
A 6500mAh battery is quite solid for a full day endurance, or more if you don’t go full throttle. And the Note Edge has a 45W charging kit. They say it has 2000 cycles, so the battery won’t go below 80% health for at least 6 years.
Many phones have 8GB RAM at this price. There aren’t many options out there with 256GB storage in tow, if you try to look past Infinix. The Note Edge is actually a template for the perfect price-to-value ratio. You can pick up the Infinix Note Edge without any post-purchase regrets, as far as the storage goes.
Cons: Performance Undermined by Competitors
The Note Edge is built around a Dimensity 7100 chip. This does unlock 5G on the handset, but the performance falls way beneath other competitors that have Dimensity 7300 or 7400. AnTuTu gave it an average of 782K points. Redmi Note 15 5G had 868K, and Nothing Phone 3a Lite got 907K points.
Cons: No Camera Variety
There may be options other than the Note Edge with more camera versatility. There’s no Ultrawide or telephoto lens here. So you’ll be stuck with a 50MP main sensor and a 13MP selfie. The absent OIS stability means the photos taken might sometimes come out blurry. If you are not big on photography, however, the Infinix Note Edge could still be a great purchase for only Rs 74,999 in Pakistan.
Verdict
Infinix Note Edge checks all the right boxes for the price, and doesn’t leave you an inch to complain. Like we said, it’s the template for a perfect price-to-value ratio that other companies need to follow. Yes, we did mention a few cons: lack of camera versatility and a weaker chip. But none of them are dealbreakers for an average user. The Note Edge gets a seal of approval from WhatMobile, and we hope to see more devices like this from the brand in the future.
