New colors, New prices, Huawei has slashed the prices of two of its mid-range models: Huawei Y9s and Huawei Y6s. And not just that, both the handsets will now be available in brand-new colours. The Huawei Y9s will now be available an all-new Phantom Purple Color at Rs. 39,999, instead of Rs. 41,000 – making for a discount of Rs. 1,000. And after a price cut of Rs. 1,699, the Huawei Y6s is now retailing in an exciting Sunrise Orange color for Rs. 19,300 as opposed to the initial price tag of Rs. 20,900.
Huawei Y9s
The Y9s features a 6.59” FullView FHD+ front panel that delivers a higher-than-average 91% screen-to-body ratio thanks to its notch or punch-hole free design. Huawei Y9s mounts its front-facing camera on a motorized pop-up module to maximize screen real-estate. The fingerprint scanner is mounted on the side.
The rear-shell is polished and painted in Midnight Black, Breathing Crystal, and Phantom Purple editions. The triple-camera features a 48MP main camera, a 120⁰ 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP depth-assist sensor.
The processing is handled by a Kirin 710F chip, combined with 6GB of memory and 128GB of storage. The battery has a 4,000 mAh capacity with 10W charging. The EMUI 9.1 OS it ships with is upgradable to EMUI 10.1.
Huawei Y6s
The Y6s is a more affordable model, offering a 6.09” Dew-drop screen that delivers an 87% screen-to-body ratio. Flip it over to find a duo-tone design featuring a polished and matte shell in Starry Black and Orchid Blue colors. The Sunrise Orange edition combines a faux leather texture all around.
A single 13MP f/1.8 camera is mounted on the back, while the front-facing camera uses an 8MP sensor. Flanking the rear-camera is a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
A MediaTek Helio P35 octa-core chipset powers the device, available in 3GB + 64GB and 3GB + 32GB configurations. The storage is expandable up to 512GB with a microSD card. The Y6s is powered by a 3,020 mAh battery and EMUI 9.1, based on Android 9.
