Huawei is all set to unveil the successor to this year’s Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 in Pakistan – the Huawei Y9s. The launch event is scheduled for November 27, 2019, in Lahore, and the tech giant has already sent out the invites. As WhatMobile noted in an earlier post, Huawei Y9s was first launched globally earlier this month, and will now be arriving in Pakistan. While Huawei is keeping the retail price in Pakistan under the wraps, it has shared pretty much everything else about this mid-range smartphone.

Let’s talk about the Huawei Y9s design first. You’re looking at a 6.59-inch ‘Ultra FullView’ display that produces an FHD+ resolution and a 91% screen-to-body ratio. Huawei shaved off the bezels further but borrowed the pop-up selfie module from Y9 Prime (released in May this year).

The back panel now reflects the minimalism on the front. It is less busy because the back-mounted fingerprint sensor has now been moved to the side. As per Huawei’s claims, the side-mounted fingerprint reader (which doubles as the power button, by the way) can unlock your device in just 0.3 seconds.

Speaking of which, the Y9s swaps out the twin-camera module for a triple camera system that features a 48-megapixel primary unit. It is rounded off by an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor and a 2-megapixel depth lens. The optics hardware is augmented by AI, which promises better shots in low light.

The hardware under the hood impresses too, with a Kirin 710F chipset at its heart. The chipset has 128 GB of native storage and 6 GB of memory baked into it. Huawei claims the 710F offers up to 68% upgrade in CPU and a 130% improvement in GPU performance. To power this arrangement, Huawei Y9s 2019 packs a 4,000 mAh battery with support for 10W fast-charging. Further, it runs on an EMUI 9.1-skinned Android Pie (9.0).

Although it won’t be confirmed until Wednesday at 6:30 PM, Huawei Y9s is suggested to retail for anywhere around 40,000 to 45,000 PKR. Do you think the specs merit the expected Huawei price tag? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
