Huawei Y8s Leaked in Renders, Has a Wide Notch on the Front and a Twin Rear Camera

The popular phone leaker, Evan Blass, has leaked the press renders for the entry-level Huawei Y8s. For our readers out of the loop, Huawei skipped the Y8 lineup and went straight to the Huawei Y9 series. If Y8s is in the works, it’s safe to assume that we might get a Y8 as well at affordable Huawei prices. The Y-series is the global variant of the company's ‘Enjoy’ series based in China.

The Huawei Y8s renders show a wedge notch featuring two front cameras. The design isn’t in vogue and is reminiscent of the wide notch that OnePlus 6T debuted with. The chin isn’t depicted in the image, but the side-bezels are minimalistic.

The rear shell of Y8s has soft roundings, chamfered edges, and a ‘flowing light streaks’ look. The shell appears to be polished polycarbonate, with possibly iridescent patterns. The edition seen in the image is sea green. A rear-mounted capacitive fingerprint flanks its camera setup.

The rectangular bump on Y8s by Huawei protrudes out the back, with two lenses stacked on top of an LED flash. The primary lens will have a 48MP sensor behind it, based on the text next to it that reads ‘48MP AI Camera’.

No additional specifications, Huawei price or availability details are available yet, but given that the Y-lineup is Huawei’s most affordable and the phone’s entry-level build, we speculate that it would be a budget-friendly pick. Rumors also point to a Kirin 710 or a Kirin 810 processor underneath its hood.
