Some of you may remember the Honor Play 60A 5G. We did a full coverage on it back in December. A device nearly identical to Play 60A has debuted in the UAE today. They are calling it Honor X6d. It’s still a 5G handset, and the only difference to keep these twins apart is the primary camera.
The Play 60A had a 13MP camera that wasn’t well-liked by fans. The rehsahsed Honor X6d upgrades the main lens to a 50MP sensor. It’s still a single rear camera, mind you. And it still can’t record videos beyond 1080p 30 FPS. But a 50MP camera could definitely make the images sharper.
UAE’s Honor new budget model is given a 5,260 mAh battery, by the way. The Play 60A, on the other hand, used a 5,300 mAh cell. The difference is so small that you can disregard it entirely. It might just be the same battery with a different label. And the charging speed is 15W on either version.
Nothing else has changed on this newcomer. It’s still built around a 6.75” TFT LCD with HD+ resolution. The refresh rate is 90Hz. There was no mention of the fingerprint reader on the UAE’s regional store listing, but one might be present on the side.
This is a dual-SIM version and has 5G support. A Dimensity 6300 SoC pulls the load here. That’s a 2.4GHz platform, and the integrated Mali G57 MP2 GPU is here for gaming. It’s not as fast as some midrange chips, but it’s out of the league for devices like the Honor X6d. You can expect decent performance out of it.
There’s only 4GB RAM on this device, which might bottleneck the SoC’s power. It’s hooked up to a 256GB storage module. You are seeing Magic OS 9 on this handset, which is primarily based on Android 15. It doesn’t seem to have an SD card slot for storage expansion, so you are stuck with what you get.
The notch gives an outdated look to the Honor X6d. But it is there to house a 5MP selfie sensor. The WiFi is dual-band, and only a single speaker is used for audio. Honor X6d (4/256GB) is priced at AED 509 (~PKR 38,000), which is reasonable for this kind of hardware.
