Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 9 series came out in summer earlier this year, and it quickly rose to become a best-selling lineup. The company is now refreshing it with 5G. The new Redmi Note 9 5G series will be unveiled on November 26, per an official announcement made on the Chinese social media platform Weibo.

A promotional poster accompanied the announcement, featuring the Redmi Note 9 5G. Geekbench has previously benchmarked the phone. Based on that scorecard, the new 5G edition runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G. This chipset debuted in September this year and brings 5G, improved performance, and AI enhancements to its predecessor, the Snapdragon 730G.

The rest of the spec sheet has also been leaked. The Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G handles multitasking with 8GB of memory. And is powered by a 4820 mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging. For the visuals, you’re looking at a 6.67” IPS LCD that produces a full HD+ resolution at a fluid 120Hz refresh rate.

Although not visible in the official poster, Note 9 Pro 5G’s front panel features a 16MP camera inside a centered hole-punch. The fingerprint scanner is merged with the side-facing power button. The back, which appears to be glass, has a centered donut-style camera island. A 108MP primary camera is embedded in there.

The standard Redmi Note 9 5G will also be making its appearance at the launch event in China. It has MediaTek’s Dimensity 800U chipset at its heart, hooked up to a 5000 mAh battery that fast charges over 22.5W. Its smaller 6.53” FHD+ display is also rumored to operate on a high refresh rate.

The rear camera is trimmed down from 108MP to 48MP, joined by two additional sensors. The front-facing camera is 13MP. Speculation suggests that Xiaomi plans to rebrand the Redmi Note 9 5G as Redmi Note 9T in some markets.
