Xiaomi Redmi A7 Pro Certified in Multiple Regions; Global Launch on the Horizon

They are skipping the Redmi A6 name tag for some reason. This year’s lineup will be called the Redmi A7 series, and we have just found the Pro version on multiple certification listings as proof. Redmi A7 Pro has been cleared in the UAE and Thailand, which means the launch is mere weeks away.

These two regions have regulatory bodies, the TDRA and NBTC. We flagged the A7 Pro moniker and 25128RN17A/25128RN17Y model numbers on these certifications. Something similar to those numbers was actually cleared by the USA FCC back in December, but we didn’t know the device’s name at the time.

And while you are reading this, the same Redmi A7 Pro (25128RN17A) has also been approved by Indonesia’s SDPPI. That means the phone is greenlit in the USA and the UAE. And its launch is possible in the Indonesian and Thai regions. Safe to assume it’s a global device.

These certifications confirm one more thing: the fact that the Redmi A5 series will get replaced by the Redmi A7 family. And the A6 moniker is getting skipped entirely. By the way, 25128RN17G is also the model code assigned to Redmi’s Poco C81. Think of this device as the rebranded A7 Pro.

Anyway, the FCC listing from 2025 actually spilled a few specs about this Xiaomi latest 5G mobile. Now that the name is confirmed, it’s pretty much set in stone that this newcomer is built around a 6.9” IPS LCD that only has an HD+ resolution.

And the weak chipset may lead the company to an Android 15 Go system on the Redmi A7 Pro. But it’s for the better. The Unisoc T7250 chip only brings a 1.8 GHz boost clock speed, so it’s prudent that the device runs a lightweight Android Go system.

They’ve planned 6GB and 4GB RAM versions for this handset. That’s either wired to 64GB or 128GB eMMC 5.1 storage. And the FCC also confirmed the battery to be 6000 mAh on the Redmi A7 Pro with only 15W charging support through a USB-C cable. There was nothing on the camera setup, though. Keep watching the news for updates on that front.
