Xiaomi Redmi 12C Global Edition Appears on Geekbench With Helio G85 SoC and 4GB RAM

A few weeks ago,  Xiaomi Redmi 12C debuted in China exclusively. Having discovered its traces on international certification platforms, we can confirm that it's getting prepped for global release. 12C recently entered FCC, NBTC, and IMEI databases, and now it has surfaced on Geekbench to reveal specs.


Features are no mystery since Redmi 12C is already roaming Chinese markets, though the model number on the Global variant is different, 22120RN86G. RAM is slightly lower in the upcoming phone. Here's what the listing showed in the specs for the new Xiaomi budget device.

Under the model code 22120RN86G, Xiaomi Redmi 12C boasts 355 points on a single and 1173 points on all eight cores. The tested SoC inside the phone bears the codename ARM MT6769V/CZ, AKA MTK Gelio G85. It's an average-performing chip integrated with a low-end MALI-G52 GPU.


Geekbench tested the 4GB variant of Redmi 12C; more variants likely exist, but they have yet to reveal themselves. The phone won't run Android 13 out of the box; instead, it abounds with the outdated Android 12. Tipped to unveil globally at the MWC event, here are all the features it will pack inside. Redmi 12C fashions a 6.71-inch IPS display with HD+ resolution and trimmed bezels. Design-wise, 12C boasts a diagonal line texture on the back with a back-mounted fingerprint cutout. Under its drop-notch, Xiaomi has endowed 12C with a 5MP selfie camera that can record 1080p videos at 30 frames per second.

The camera setup on this model combines 50MP primary with 0.08MP depth. Redmi 12C boots up using a 5000mAh cell rated for 10W charging support. FCC USA and NBTC Thailand mark 12C's imminent launch in their respective regions.
