Vivo Y33s and Vivo Y21 to Launch Soon with 5000 mAh Batteries and Sleek Designs

Vivo currently has two budget phones in the pipeline, slated to launch very soon. The upcoming Vivo Y33s and Vivo Y21 were featured in an extensive leak, showcasing their web promos and entire specification sheets. The duo offers sleek designs but in typical Vivo fashion, the specs aren’t as competitive as other value phones coming out of China.

The leak comes from the publication 91Mobiles which cites the Indian phone leaker Yogesh Brar as its source. Vivo Y21 and Vivo Y33s will make its debut in India; once it does, it should be headed to other South Asian markets, including Pakistan.

Vivo Y21

Vivo Y21 has a slim, blocky design available in holographic, geometric, and plain blue-green finishes. Off-center, two cameras are housed inside a thin housing. It’s an array made of 2MP macro and 13MP wide lenses. Flip the Y21 over to find an 8MP front camera hidden inside a notch. A side-facing thumbprint reader is etched into the phone’s frame.

This notch bleeds into the phone’s 6.51” screen. It delivers a 720P resolution, fills a 20:9 aspect ratio, and filters out harmful blue light. Note that these specs feel out of place in 2021 because 1080P has quickly become the standard now, even for entry-level Android phones.

The mobile platform at the heart of this phone is similarly dated. The MediaTek Helio P35 (released in 2018) powers the Vivo Y21. It’s backed by a 5,000 mAh battery with 18W fast-charging support. You get 4GB of memory, 128GB of internal storage, and the latest FunTouchOS 11.

Vivo Y33s

Vivo Y33s falls into the higher-end range, however. Its screen is a 6.58” IPS LCD that delivers a 1080P resolution, contains a notch, and makes for a 90.6% screen-to-body ratio. A 16MP front camera is encased inside the display.

Three cameras, 50MP f/1.8 wide, 2MP portrait, and 2MP macro lenses, make up the rear camera cluster. Vivo Y33s shoots in super night, eye AF, HDR, and ultra-stable video modes.

Under the hood, the MediaTek Helio G80 handles number crunching. 8GB of memory is responsible for multitasking. Plus, you get 128GB of internal storage. The 5000 mAh battery and 18W power delivery are shared with the Y21. The latest FunTouch OS 11.1 powers the Vivo Y33s.
