Vivo Y05e Retailer Listing Appears Ahead of Launch with 5150mAh Battery, IP64 Rating

The phone hasn’t been made official by the company so far, but an online store in South Africa has put the Vivo Y05e on sale ahead of it. This newcomer sits at the very base of Vivo’s price gradient, and it shows in the spec sheet. The listing from said store exposed its key features and the unofficial price tag.

Vodacom is a reputed e-store/network carrier in South Africa. So a listing on this platform is as close as we get to an official product page. Like we said, it’s a budget phone at the lowest tier. There’s a very basic display here and an average battery.

6.74” is the display size on the Vivo new 4G mobile with a high RR. It’s just an LCD HD+ 720p display, and though they don’t say its exact refresh rate, we assume it’s more than 60Hz. By the way, the phone does have Android 16 to boot, but the chipset they chose for the Y05e will definitely struggle with it.

We came across a Google Play Console listing for it. That’s how we know that this handset is actually built around a Unisoc T606 SoC. This is just a 1.6GHz boost clock, 8-core engine that barely scrapes by with 350 single-core points on Geekbench, and just 2 points on Nano Review’s gaming score.

We’d suggest you avoid the Y05e like the plague if they launch it in Pakistan at the same price as the South African market, which is ~$150 (~PKR 41,000). We have far better options out there. Of course, it’s not yet confirmed whether it will arrive in our market or not.

The phone does have an IP64 rating, so it’s splashproof, and Vivo also has an MIL-STD drop safety certification for it. Vivo Y05e only has 8GB RAM, half of which is sliced from its 64GB storage as virtual memory. Then we have the camera and battery stats.

Apparently, there’s a 4-year longevity promise from Vivo for the Y05e’s 5150mAh battery. It must have at least 1000 cycles. The main single camera on the back is 8MP. The screen’s notch is used to disguise a 5MP selfie snapper on the Vivo Y05e. We’ll be hearing about its official unveiling soon. Keep watching the news for updates.
