Vivo Y05 Could Launch in Pakistan Soon with 120Hz Screen, 6500mAh cell & IP65 Rating

Vivo Y04 arrived in Pakistan around the same time last year. It’s time to bid farewell to the budget champ and welcome the Vivo Y05 that’s coming soon. We hear the company is about to unveil this device globally, and there’s a high chance it will land in our market as well.

Vivo Y05 was actually deployed in Malaysia days ago, but the unveiling was so low-key that the internet is still unaware of its official launch. We are interested in the phone’s specs, and we found pretty much everything we need from the Malaysian microsite.

Design-wise, the Vivo new 4G mobile looks almost like the Vivo V60 Lite from the back. The front is obviously a different story because it is a budget phone. There are two lenses on an island, and one of them is an 8MP main camera. And the second lens houses an Infrared blaster for some reason.

The selfie camera is in the notch, and it’s 5MP. There’s a Dynamic (ring) Light next to the camera deco. By the way, this newcomer is all about durability and endurance. There’s a 6500mAh battery here. The older Y04 only had a 5500mAh cell, so this year’s upgrade is massive.

Then comes the IP rating. It got upgraded from IP64 to IP65 this year. But that only means it can handle water splashes on all sides, not just the front. It still can’t handle full water submersion. SGS gave Vivo Y05 a five-star drop protection rating.

The screen on this handset is a 6.74” IPS LCD with a notch and a 720p resolution. The refresh rate is 120Hz. 1200nits is the maximum brightness. They’ve got Android 16 with OriginOS 6 running on the Vivo Y05. Sadly, the chipset did not get an upgrade this year.

Vivo Y05 is stuck with the same old Unisoc T7250 chip, which is only a 1.8 GHz processor. It seems the phone’s charging speed is a simple 15W input. The WiFi is dual-band. A side fingerprint reader lends privacy to the Vivo Y05. Its Malaysian cost is RM 399 (~PKR 28,000). We believe the Pakistani cost will be in the ballpark when it arrives here.
