With the Vivo Y22 launch wrapped up a few days ago, the BBK-owned brand is on a roll deploying the new successor of the Vivo Y21 to multiple countries, one after the other. Per the reports by our internal sources, Y22 might launch in Pakistan by the end of September. The Y22 might be a good buy for those looking for a beefed-up budget phone.

The latest entry segment rival, Vivo Y22, has a charming design, high-class performance, and a nice pair of cameras. The phone runs Android 12 x FuntouchOS 12 from the get-go and ships with three beautiful finishes, Starlite Blue, Metaverse Green, and Summer Cyan.

Endowed with IP54 water and dust protection,  Vivo Y22 rocks a sleek flat-rim build and a slightly raised rear camera island. The island has a dual-camera housing for a 50MP Wide Alpha and 2MP Macro Beta lens. The black accented module has a nice contrast to all three colors.

The upcoming Y22 bares a selfie camera (8MP) drop-notch that bleeds into the screen. With a 720p resolution, Vivo's new Y model boasts a decently sized 6.55-inch IPS screen. The bezels feel a bit chunky due to ~82.4% screen-to-body ratio.

For privacy & security, Y22 features a side-mounted thumbprint scanner. It hooks up to a 5000mAh cell for power with a standard 18-Watt Fast charging. For the sweet Vivo prices, it brings two storage variants to the table; a 128GB model joined with 6GB RAM and 64GB with 4GB RAM.

MediaTek’s Helio G85 chipset is boosting the Funtouch operating system on Y22. It’s a 12nm octa-core silicon that provides two performance cores clocked at 2.0GHz and six efficiency cores at 1.8GHz. With features like dual SIM standby, expandable RAM & storage, striking Crystalline Mate back panel technology, and an expected 38,999 PKR price tag, Vivo Y22 will become a formidable rival.
