Vivo S1 6GB variant got launched in Pakistan just two months back in July and now the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has started Pre-orders for its 4GB variant at a much cheaper and affordable price. The new S1 variant is launching officially on the 17th of September.

Vivo S1 4GB is a marginally watered-down version of this year’s S1. Aside from the RAM difference, both phones are identical – the reimagined Vivo S1 will be rocking 4 GB of RAM, unlike the original S1 which featured 6 GB of memory. The idea is to slash the price, and the downgrade will, evidently, come at a lower price point. From the looks of it, this upcoming variant is also pure eye-candy and packing the same real performance.

The new S1 will be rocking the same 6.38-inch SuperAMOLED screen with a water-drop notch serving as the housing for the selfie-camera, as well as an in-display fingerprint reader. It features an FHD+ 1080X2340 pixel display with a pixel density of 404 ppi. The screen-to-body ratio would be considered towards the low-end, which maxes out at 83.12 pc. However, it does offer respectable viewing angles and gets ridiculously bright under the sun.

The performance remains unchanged, with its MediaTek Helio P65 SoC coupled with a Cortex A75 processor clocked at 2GHz and a Hexacore Cortex A55 with the same clock rate. It’ll be running FunTouch OS skinned Android Pie (9.0) powered by a 3940 mAh battery which supports fast-charging at 18W – the 18W charger will, of course, ship with the box.

In terms of camera offerings, you’re looking at the same triple-camera setup with a 16 MP primary shooter, and 8 MP wide-angle+2 MP depth lenses. As for the memory configuration, Vivo S1 will be available in a 4/64 GB configuration. And that’s the only part which separates it from the original S1 – which had 6 gigs of RAM. Unlike most major manufacturers though, Vivo didn’t lop off support for microSD card, and the phone can afford up to 256 GB of expandable storage.

There no changes in the cosmetics or design of the handset, and it’ll arrive in the same two different color options: Diamond Black and Skyline Blue.

Official sources have announced the arrival of this lite variant on social media and the phone is set for launch on 17th of September. But it is available for pre-ordering at a starting price of only 35,999 PKR. Vivo mobile is also offering a Bluetooth lamp speaker as a gift with every pre-order. Note that the original S1 6GB Variant’s asking price was just shy of 50,000 PKR.
