Vivo Y20 2021 Price in Pakistan (Coming Soon); The Entry-level Handset Secures a Certification in Thailand

Vivo's entry-level Y20 series currently features three models, Vivo Y20, Y20s, and Y20i. They came out in August this year. And they’re now being joined by another edition, the Vivo Y20 (2021). It has already secured a certification and could make its debut in the coming weeks. Let’s take a look at the newest budget-first phone from Vivo.

The certification document was first spotted by folks over at MySmartPrice. It’s an NBTC listing from Thailand that lists Vivo Y20 2021 under the model number ‘Vivo V2043’.

The Y20 series is somewhat unique in Vivo’s catalog of budget phones in that it uses a current-gen processor — Qualcomm’s latest entry-level platform, the Snapdragon 460. A massive 5000 mAh battery with 18W fast charging powers this chipset. So the internals are solid for a value lineup. It is too early to speculate Vivo's new model price in Pakistan or even if it reaches the local market or not.

The document mentioned above doesn’t detail anything beyond the model number (although it can help identify future certifications and benchmarks). But, the Vivo Y20 2021 would likely build on the same specification sheet with a few tweaks in design and features. For instance, the Y20 charges over an obsolete microUSB port.

Vivo’s design language for budget phones has also stagnated. That is vertically stacked cameras inside a rectangular plate, with a sunburst finish raying out from under it. This aesthetic is identical to phones like the Vivo V20 SE and Vivo Y30. It’d be a welcome change to see the Y20 2021 take a new direction going into the new year.
