Tecno Spark Go 2020 Announced; Meet the Brand's Most Affordable Android Phone Yet

Just days before the Tecno Camon 16 Series unveiling (on September 3) the brand has already announced the new Spark Go 2020. It’s not just another ultra-affordable phone from a budget-conscious brand; it’s as cheap as Android smartphones get. Let’s take a look.

The most striking feature of the Tecno Spark Go 2020 would arguably be its design. Not that it has a lot of mainstream competition in its price bracket, but its 6.52” HD+ display is best-in-class.

A modern 20:9 aspect ratio fills this screen and there’s a notch on top to house the front-facing camera. Spark Go's closest rival, the Samsung Galaxy A01 Core has a design at least three generations old with a compact screen and big, weighty bezels.

A fingerprint scanner rests on the back panel of Spark Go 2020, next to a Tecno dual-camera system — another feature atypical of ultra-budget phones. The front camera is a respectable 8MP, while the rear-facing camera uses a 13MP lens, rounded off with a depth-assist sensor.

At 5,000 mAh, the battery capacity of Tecno Spark Go 2020 is equally impressive. It’s joined by 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage (which you can expand with a microSD card). MediaTek’s newly announced Helio A20 powers the phone — made for entry-level phones.

To optimize performance for this barebones hardware, the new Tecno Go 2020 runs on the Go edition of the latest Android. It promises lightning-fast launch times and saves up to 900 MB of internal storage. Available in Ice Jadeite and Aqua Blue colorways, the Spark Go 2020 starts from a Tecno mobile price of $90 (or Rs. 15,000). Tecno is releasing the phone in India on September 7 but the Pakistani market should follow soon.
