Tecno Spark 50 series was already populated enough, but now there are two more siblings in the lineup. They’ve unveiled the Tecno Spark 50s and Spark 50c in China, and both sit in different price segments. One is rather premium, and the other is an entry-level device. This is everything you need to know.
Tecno Spark 50s
This is a 5G phone, so it’s priced higher and has better performance than the “C” version. Its minimal design also looks way premium. Anyway, you’ll see a Dimensity 6400 SoC on the Spark 50s with 8GB RAM. That’s a 2.5GHz platform. Mali G57 MP2 is the GPU onboard.
It will boot to an Android 16 HiOS 16 home screen, by the way. And the ROM lives on 128 GB of storage. That’s the best you get with Spark 50s, sadly. You do get a 2TB card expansion slot, so you can always put your media and documents on the external SD card.
The screen and punch-hole camera sit on the front. That’s a 6.78” IPS LCD. There’s only 720p HD+ resolution on it. It’s not the sharpest screen around. But it does have a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth visuals. The SoC will handle this screen just fine.
The selfie camera is just a garden-variety 8MP unit. And a 50MP main sensor is installed on a horizontal camera plate next to an LED flash. The Spark 50s is built around a 6500mAh cell that supports 45W fast charging and Bypass charging. The only colors you get are Breeze Blue and Burgundy Red at $210 (~PKR 58,000) for the 6/128GB Spark 50s.
Tecno Spark 50c
It’s an entirely different device; no resemblance. Spark 50c has a design of its own with a horizontal camera bar and better durability. The S version may be faster, but it only has an IP64 rating. Tecno Spark 50c is IP68/IP69 rated for a fully waterproof build.
The battery is smaller on the Spark 50c. It’s 5200mAh with 15W charging support, and it’s a pretty slow performer as well. All you get is a Helio G81 Ultra chip. Bad enough that the Spark 50c has a slow 2GHz CPU, but it also has 4GB RAM that would kneecap its multitasking ability.
It’s a 4G device. You can max out the Spark 50c with up to 256GB of storage at the highest tier. Of course, it would cost more. The main camera is 13MP, and the selfie camera in the punch hole is an 8MP unit. The second lens on the back is an auxiliary port.
Anyway, this phone also has the same Android 16 default OS with HiOS skin. They’ve put dual speakers on the frame and an IR blaster. The screen here is a 6.78” IPS LCD with soft HD+ resolution, which also peaks at a 120Hz refresh rate, same as the S verison. The least-priced Spark 50c variant has 4/64GB memory, but they haven’t revealed its exact price yet.
