Rumors of the Galaxy M22, an upcoming M-series phone, have been floating around the web since early Summer. The Korean manufacturer has already secured several certifications for the new Samsung Galaxy A22 cousin. And it has now been featured on an official support page, signaling its nearing launch.

You can find the Samsung Galaxy M22 listed on the Samsung Russia website under the model number “SM-M225FV/DS.” Since it’s a placeholder page, it doesn’t contain any relevant details beyond the model name and dual SIM support. For the specs, we can turn to the previously mentioned certifications.

The Galaxy M22 was also benchmarked on the popular cross-platform Geekbench. MediaTek Helio G80 is at the heart of the M22, powered by Android11-based OneUI. As per the scorecard, the M22 manages 374 points on single-core and 1361 points on multi-core tests. To put these numbers in context, the last-gen Galaxy M21 hit a score of 348 and 1302 points, respectively.

The hardware of the new Samsung mobile phone 2021 runs on a 5000 mAh battery, trimmed down from the 6000 mAh cell seen on the M21. The FCC listing specifies 25W quick-charging support for the phone but the manufacturer ships the Galaxy M22 with a 15W brick.

Its screen is a notched AMOLED panel. It measures 6.5” across, peaks at a 720P resolution, and refreshes at a smooth 90Hz. On the back, we find a line textured back. A matrix of four lenses is housed inside a squared-off plate. We’re looking at a 48MP wide camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and two 2MP portrait and macro sensors.
