Samsung Galaxy A71's Early Renders leaked; Korean Listing also Confirms the Battery Capacity

Samsung is working on refreshing its insanely popular mid-range Galaxy A-series with two new additions -- Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71. Last week gave us a peek at the early leaked renderings of Galaxy A51. This week brings us the first set of A71 renders, along with a look at the battery powering this model, thanks to a South Korean Certification listing.

The Samsung Galaxy A71 borrows the L-shaped quad-camera module from the A51 as well as the centered punch-hole display. Pictured below, you’re likely looking at a 6.7-inch Infinity O-AMOLED display expected to produce a sharp FHD+ resolution. On the top, you get a punch-hole housing placed in the dead-center (think Galaxy Note 10 but with a less boxy design language), and on the bottom sits an in-display fingerprint reader.

The back offers an exceptionally minimal look -- a unicolor matte finish with a squircle camera module. The charcoal-hued camera module (along with its Smartisan-inspired L-style design) presents a contrast with the bright and clean back panel.

The primary of these four lenses is speculated to be a 48-megapixel unit, rounded off by a pair of 12-megapixel shooters and a ToF sensor. The selfie camera on the front is believed to be a 32-megapixel module.

As for the internal hardware, an earlier Geekbench posting revealed that A71 would run on a Snapdragon 675 chipset with 8 GB of memory baked into it. Note that some speculations suggest that A71 might feature an Exynos 980 -- an SoC with a built-in 5G modem. In any case, the phone will be powered by a One UI-based Android 10.

The battery is carried over from its predecessor -- A70, at least in terms of capacity. Courtesy of Galaxy Club, a South Korean certification listing confirms it to be a 4,500 mAh cell. The same source also shared pictures of the said battery.

It's still too early to say anything about the pricing or the release date but Going by Samsung’s release cycle, the Samsung Galaxy A71 might arrive in early 2020 along with the Galaxy A91.
