Reportedly, a new mid-range Samsung mobile phone is in the works and set for release any time soon. The newest addition – Galaxy A71, would become part of the well-received A-series.

A while back, a few details regarding Samsung Galaxy A71’s camera were leaked online. Further details have surfaced now on Geekbench – a popular benchmarking site, regarding the specs of the yet-to-be-announced phone. The specs leak is part of the A-series roadmap which recently popped up online.

As per the details revealed, the upcoming smartphone will be shipped with the latest Android 10 flavored with the latest OneUI, running on a Snapdragon 675 chip (which the site refers to as Qualcomm sm6150) and 8 gigs of RAM. And while the Samsung S11 might be the company’s most anticipated release, A71 would be powered by Android 10 before the S11 debuts.

As per the earlier rumors, Samsung Galaxy A71 is expected to feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with a punch-hole design and an in-display fingerprint reader. If you’re familiar with A71’s predecessor’s chipset, you can probably tell that there won’t be much improvement in that department since the upcoming model will feature the same chip as the Samsung A70.

But since Geekbench doesn’t always get chipset details right, Samsung might have ditched the Snapdragon 675 processor. Some have speculated that the device might feature a fresh Exynos 9630 SoC chip. The chip is still in development, so it’s too early to substantiate these speculations. Although, the points this model secured on Geekbench’s benchmarking test favor the latter.

Apart from the specs spotted on the Geekbench, The improvement this model does promise is in its camera upgrades. The leaks suggest that the device will come with a quad-camera setup boasting a 48 MP main shooter, paired with a 12 MP wide-angle and a 12 MP depth sensor touting 2X optical zoom.
