The Galaxy A22 5G is the Korean's next ultra-affordable 5G phone that keeps popping up in leaks every few weeks. But the first concrete hint of the upcoming release of Samsung Galaxy A32's cousin comes in the form of a product certification from the TÜV SÜD authority. The A22 5G cleared the safety tests, bringing it a step closer to launch.

The certification for the Galaxy A22 5G was recently posted on the TÜV SÜD website. It specifies the model number ‘SM-A226B’ for the device. We know that the Galaxy A22 5G charger delivers a 15W charging speed.

Since the test is related to safety standards, the documentation doesn’t contain any system information beyond the charging details. For those, we turn to the previously reported Galaxy A22 5G leaks and benchmarks.

Its Geekbench scorecard shows that the A22 5G has the Dimensity 700 running things behind the scenes. Samsung New Model 2021 is currently the most entry-level 5G mobile platform in MediaTek’s catalog. 6GB of memory and the latest Android11-based OneUI accompany this microchip.

The Galaxy A22 5G features a 6.5” panel with a V-notch melting into it. There’s a triple-camera on the back, featuring a 48MP main lens and an ultra-wide camera. Inside the notch, we’ll find a 13MP selfie lens. Samsung also has an LTE variant lined up for launch alongside the 5G edition. They both share a single build, available in Gray, White, Mint, and Violet colorways. Speculation puts the expected price of the Galaxy A22 5G at KRW 200,000 (~ Rs. 27,000.)
