Redmi Note 17 Series Locked in for July Debut; Marks 12th Anniversary & 500 Million Sales

It was suggested by the rumor mill that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 lineup would debut in July. We are talking about the Chinese launch that always predates a global release. Well, this is no longer a rumor. They just confirmed its launch window, though Xiaomi is keeping the exact date to itself for now.

Their new Redmi Note 17 lineup will show up sometime within this month. An official banner was recently seen with a footnote that says, “Note 17 series - see you this month.” That is conclusive. But as we said, they haven’t told the exact launch date.

Consider this an official heads-up for the series’ launch in July, right on the 12th anniversary of their Redmi Note series. They have passed 500 million units sold in the global market, which is a pretty huge milestone. We’ll put their Weibo teaser here for posterity.

There is little known about the lineup itself. We do know that there are at least three devices in the group. They are all 5G, made for the Chinese market. We have the vanilla Xiaomi new flagship mobile at the base. Note 17 Pro and Note 17 Pro Plus sit in the upper ranks.

As far as we’ve heard from the rumor mill, the basic Note 17 is built around a Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chip, so it’s using the best and latest hardware. There’s supposed to be a flat AMOLED on this handset that will push 1.5K resolution. The newcomer will use a 50MP sensor for the main camera, and we’ll see a 9000mAh battery on it.

Then comes the Redmi Note 17 Pro. There’s little known about this device. But reports do mention a Dimensity 7500 SoC onboard. The phone might stuff a 10,000mAh cell within the metal frame, and the Pro might come out ahead with a 200MP main camera.

The Note 17 Pro Plus will be an even better version. The older Note 15 Pro Plus had a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 and a 200MP main camera with a 6500mAh cell to keep everything running. Of course, the Note 17 Pro Plus is bound to be an improvement. Keep watching the news for updates.
