Xiaomi's new Redmi Note 10 series targets every subsection of the budget market, but perhaps no model in this lineup is more value-friendly than the Redmi Note 10S. It offers a stunning display, immersive audio, high-performance specs, and a durable build to boot — all on a budget. After a brief, unexpected delay, it’s now headed to Pakistan on the 25th of May, along with the Note 10 5G.

Let’s start with the visuals. We’re looking at a 6.43” OLED screen with a hole punched through its center. It features a high contrast ratio, a full HD resolution, and flagship-grade 1100 nits of peak brightness. Xiaomi Redmi Note 10S rounds this display off with 360° light sensors, a reading mode, and a blue light filtering feature.

The Note 10S has dual stereo speakers, certified by Hi-Res audio for an immersive experience. To enhance it further, Xiaomi advertises its linear motor as advanced and intelligent enough to follow the beats and actions of your gameplay. A convenient 3.5mm audio jack is also built into the phone.

Speaking of games, the chipset at the heart of the Redmi Note 10S is Helio G95. It’s a budget gaming chip from MediaTek, clocked at 2.05 GHz. The so-called 33W Mi Turbo Charge can top-up the new Xiaomi mobile’s 5000 mAh battery to half its capacity in just 30 minutes. Out of the box, MIUI 12.5, based on Android11, runs on the Note 10S.

The design is nothing ground-breaking, except for the novel side-facing thumbprint reader. Instead of sitting inside a concave groove, the sensor looks just like any other power button out there. The shell, available in Onyx Gray, Pebble White, and Ocean Blue, is beveled and curved. The build is IP53 certified against splashes and dust. Plus, it supports NFC and an IR Blaster.

Lastly, the Note 10S has a capable camera system, featuring a 64MP f/1.79 wide lens, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and two 2MP macro and depth-mapping sensors. Selfies are taken with a narrower 13MP camera. WhatMobile puts its expected price at Rs. 35,999.
