Oppo Reno 17 Series Key Specs, Storage Options, and Colors Leak Ahead of Launch

The new Reno 17 series will launch this month, though the exact date is still anyone’s guess. The two phones in the series have been leaking at a steady pace. And just today, a new report spilled details about the Oppo Reno 17 and Reno 17 Pro. We’ve got the key specs and all the color options.

The leak is from Digital Chat Station, so it must have some weight to it. Apparently, the two models in the Reno 17 series have optical zoom cameras. They are each 50MP periscope telephoto lenses, nothing we haven’t seen before. That’s the exact setup the Reno 16 series had last time.

Anyway, the Reno 17 Pro is the smaller phone of the two. This newcomer is said to have a 6.3” OLED, probably a 1.5K resolution screen. There’s supposedly a 7200mAh battery on this thing. That’s quite a jump from the 6700mAh cell we saw on the Reno 16 Pro.

They haven’t upgraded the chip, though. Oppo Reno 17 Pro is built around the very same Dimensity 8550 super SoC. No performance upgrade of any kind. This is a 3.4GHz platform on eight cores. Mali-G720 MC8 would be the GPU on this Pro sibling to put it right on the sub-flagship track.

Then comes the vanilla Oppo Reno 17, which is bigger and hence has more room for a bigger 8000mAh battery. DCS said that it lugs around a 6.5” OLED. This will make the phone a tag larger than the older Reno 16. We still predict 1.5K resolution on it.

DCS pegs a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip on the Reno 17. This is a 2.8GHz SoC. And the chip is Adreno 722. That chip is made for the midrange phone, and that’s exactly where the Reno 17 is positioned. By the way, each sibling will have 12GB RAM with 512GB storage, maxed out.

This leak had color options, but DCS didn’t specify which phone they belong to. This is the collection, anyway. There’s First Snow White and IceMoon. Cocoa Brown and Starlight Pink must be the unique ones. They even have an oddly named Adventure Meow finish. Keep watching the news for more updates.
