Oppo K9 5G was unveiled yesterday at a launch event in China. Unlike The fashion serious Oppo F19 Pro, a new Qualcomm Snapdragon chip debuted with this edition of the performance-focused K-series. Here’s what the K9 has to offer.

The Snapdragon 768G is at the heart of Oppo K9 5G, powered by a 4300 mAh battery. Oppo’s 65W SuperVOOC fast-charging technology accompanies this battery. It can provide a full top-up in just 35 minutes. There’s also a vapor chamber cooling system integrated into the build to keep it from throttling.

You get 8GB of memory and 128GB/256GB of storage. Plus, the build includes a 3.5mm headphone jack, NFC support, and 360° surround antenna. Naturally, the Oppo K9 5G runs on the latest ColorOS 11, based on Android11.

The Oppo new model 2021 comes in two color options — charcoal and iridescent. The black colorway also has ‘09-K’ branding stamped on the back. At 7.9mm of depth and a weight of 172g, the K9 5G has a featherweight footprint.

Oppo K9’s camera is a standard arrangement, featuring a 64MP wide aperture f/1.7 camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 2MP sensor for macro shots, and a 32MP selfie camera.

Samsung supplied the display for the K9 5G. It’s a 6.43” OLED panel that delivers a full HD resolution at a 90Hz refresh rate while sampling for touches at a responsive 180Hz. An even bezel surrounds the screen and has a hole-punch in its corner to house the front camera. Oppo has hidden a sixth-gen fingerprint underneath this display. Oppo K9 5G starts at an affordable CNY 1,999 (~ Rs. 47,000.)
