Nothing Phone (4b) Officially Set for Launch in July; Design Teased in Light Blue Finish

Nothing Phone (4b) brings a whole new sublineup to look out for in the future. We’ve seen plenty of “a” devices from this company, but never a Phone with the letter “b.” It’s an unpredictable name, just like the handset’s design. The company officially teased the 4b’s design on X today.

The light blue finish was shown in a teaser post. And then Nothing uploaded a video on their X account for an even closer look at its build. Safe to say, the Phone (4b) is completely alien to us, as we’ve never seen such asymmetry on a smartphone design before.

Nothing team is always experimenting with phone designs, and they usually try not to be repetitive, unlike certain other giants who keep the same beat-up designs going for decades. We’ve seen this kind of vertical LED strip on their Nothing new A mobile.

But the camera bar style horizontal Island on the back is not original. There are at least two cameras on top of that, and a third could possibly be an autofocus unit next to an LED flash. No specs have been shared, at least for now.

The design is hard to describe, because there’s a lot going on at the back. This is a semi-tranapent build: the upper half exposed and the lower half covered. The body is flat, and there’s one extra key on the sides, other than the volume and power. This must be to trigger Essential Space on Phone (4b).

The screen seems to be a little outdated. There are chunky bezels around it. And the chin is not uniform with the rest of the sides. It’s definitely meant to be a budget model. Nothing Phone (4a) will probably outrank this handset in specs.

There’s supposed to be a Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chip on this newcomer, which means it is a 5G device. Nothing has even confirmed the exact launch date for this new model. Nothing Phone (4b) is scheduled for launch on July 7th. Keep watching the news for updates.
