Nothing Phone (3) Debuts with Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, Glyph Matrix & 50MP Telephoto Lens

The Nothing Phone (3) has officially debuted with an entirely new design and a Glyph LED Matrix on the back. As promised in the teasers, the chip inside this phone is a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 with semi-flagship performance and up to 16 GB of RAM. It even brings a telephoto camera this time, a feature that was sorely missed on the Nothing Phone (2). Here’s everything else you need to know about the newcomer.

The Phone (3) has a lot going for it in terms of display. There’s a 6.67” AMOLED screen on the front, and it has an adaptive LTPO refresh rate. It peaks at 120Hz with a little over 1080p resolution. We also have 4500 nits brightness here and a 2160Hz PWM dimming to reduce eye fatigue.

The same screen has an optical fingerprint ID on the bottom, and a dot notch to place a 50 MP selfie camera in the front. Behind the phone, the same sensor size continues for the rest of its optical setup. There’s a 50MP 3X periscope telephoto lens at the corner. The two silos at the bottom are 50MP Main and 50MP ultrawide units.

They haven’t let go of the transparent design, but Nothing has gotten rid of the glyph lighting system. That’s been replaced with a Glyph Matrix, which is an assortment of 489 individually lit LEDs, which you can use however you like. This will show you Notifications, view caller ID, app-specific messages, or animations on the Nothing Phone's new model. You can even get battery status info on it.

Nothing has associated Glyph Toys with that LED matrix, which seems to be a set of applets, like Glyph Mirror, Solar Clock, Stopwatch, Battery Indicator, or games like Spin the Bottle. The company has opened it up to developers to be creative and invent more apps to get the best out of this feature.

This device also got a software overhaul with the Nothing OS 3.5. Now, the whole Nothing line has been upgraded to Android 15, and in a short period, we might find the newcomer support Android 16 Nothing OS 4. Some leaks pointed out earlier that this handset could offer 5 years of OS and 7 years of security updates. That was also an accurate prediction.

The power source inside this device is a 5150mAh battery, which you can recharge with 65W wired or 15W wireless input. An IP68 rating makes the phone completely dust and water proof, and there’s a red light on the back that blinks when you record audio or video.

Nothing Phone (3) will offer black and white finishes to users once it officially starts retailing on July 15. So far, only the US, UK, and European prices have been revealed, and surprisingly, Nothing didn’t discriminate based on the conversion rates. The Phone (3) starts at $799 in the US, €799 in Europe, and £799 in the UK.
