Nokia C20 Plus Goes Official with Android 11 Go Edition, Entry-level Specs, and a Pocket-friendly Price

The Nokia C20 Plus, having cleared certifications and appeared in a string of leaks, was officially unveiled yesterday. This launch comes right at the heels of the Nokia G20 release in Pakistan and you can expect the C20 Plus to also debut here soon. Despite the ‘Plus’ in the title, it’s an entry-level phone with the most barebones, essential features only.

For its feature set, the Nokia C20 Plus feels out of place in 2021. Its shell is plastic with a donut-shaped camera housing. A subtle texture finish runs across the back, available in Ocean Blue and Graphite Black.

Flip the C20 Plus over to find a 6.5” LCD with a notch that bleeds into the panel. It’s a generic screen with mid-weight bezels and the ‘Nokia’ branding stamped on the chin. No fingerprint security is included in this build. It does feature a 3.5mm audio jack, a microSD card slot (that allows for up to 256GB), and an old-gen MicroUSB port.

We find three cameras onboard the Nokia C20 Plus — two on the back and one on the front. The dual rear camera is made of an 8MP main sensor and a 2MP depth-mapping lens. The selfie lens is 5MP. Its camera app supports HDR and portrait modes.

The chip is shared with the standard C20. The Unisoc SC9863A, featuring an octa-core CPU, clocked at 1.6 GHz is at the heart of the Nokia C20 Plus. It uses 32GB of storage and 3GB of memory. A 4950 mAh battery backs up the phone without any fast-charging support.

Because of its low-end hardware, the phone doesn’t run full-fledged Android. Instead, the Android11 Go Edition, optimized for entry-level phones, powers the C20 Plus. It starts from CNY 699 (~ Rs. 17,000.)
