The sequel to the still-recent Nokia C20 is on its way. In a teaser that HMD Global released in China, the launch date was detailed for the upcoming Nokia C20 Plus. It also contained a preview of the phone’s back. The rumor mill has already leaked this new variant, so we have a fair idea of what to expect.

Nokia C20 Plus will be launched alongside the new Nokia Lite Earbuds at an event on June 11 in China, as per the announcement made on Nokia’s Weibo page. The phone features a donut-shaped camera housing with a dual camera, placed next to an LED flash.

The shell has a subtle lined texture, painted in bright blue. No fingerprint scanner to be seen anywhere, suggesting that like the base Nokia C20, the Plus edition doesn’t support fingerprint security either.

Longer battery life at an affordable Nokia mobile price is the only major upgrade we’ve discerned from the previous leaks. Instead of the low-capacity 3000 mAh cell inside the C20, the C20 Plus uses a 5000 mAh battery. Publicly available certifications point out that the phone lacks any fast charging. From the TENNA and CQC databases, we learn that its charging power is capped at 10W.

For internal specs, we turn to the popular cross-platform benchmark, Geekbench. Nokia C20 Plus is listed there under the model number “TA-1388.” It features a low-end Unisoc chipset, the SC9863A, to be exact. The CPU inside is clocked at 1.6GHz. It works with 3GB of memory and the latest edition of Android11 with the clean AndroidOne UI. Because of its entry-level hardware, it’s possible that HMD Global ships the phone with Android11 Go, a reduced version of the actual OS.
