Nokia 5.2 Captured in Live Shots; Reveal a Quad-camera Setup and Notched Display

HMD Global has sent out the invites for a press event scheduled for February 23 at MWC 2020. And at this event, the Finnish company is introducing a new line of Nokia phones, which might include the Nokia 5.2. The upcoming model has just been spotted online in live images published by the popular Twitter account @evleaks.

The leak details the Nokia price and shows live shots of both the front and back panel of the phone. Bearing the code name ‘Captain America,’ the Nokia 5.2 apparently rocks 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of native storage. Further, this mid-range device will set you back $180 or 27,000 Pakistani rupees (without taxes) and should hit the market by March 4.

Next, we’re looking at the 5.2  design. The circular camera bump housing the quad-camera system is oddly reminiscent of Nokia’s Lumia designs. The four lenses are embedded in the LED flash’s orbit which itself sits in the center.

And right below this optics package on the Nokia Captain America 5.2, you’re looking at a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The rear-shell curves towards the edges and carries Nokia’s branding giving the entire panel a busy look. We might also see 3/4 variants based on Ram and storage bearing distinct Nokia prices

On the front panel, Nokia 5.2 features a dew-drop notch with reasonably slim bezels and Nokia’s branding on the chin. If you go by the UI as it’s captured in the photograph, the model runs on a stock Android Pie. But given that Nokia’s Android offerings are known for their quick update rollouts, the phone might ship with an Android-10-based Android One.

Additional key details, including the chipset name, the battery capacity, and the screen configuration, remain thin on the ground, but healthy speculation points to a 6.2-inch display and a modest Snapdragon 635 SoC. This hardware might draw power from a 3500mAh battery. But take this spec sheet with a grain of salt since earlier reports predicted a twin-camera setup, not a quad-camera package.
