Last year, Infinix showcased a concept handset with some crazy features like an electroluminescent film for notifications and a color-changing rear panel. Another highlighted feature was the incredible 160W fast charging technology.

This system, called Thunder charge, has been under development since then. And today, Infinix’s CEO Benjamin Jiang shared a brief teaser showcasing an even more advanced charging mechanism. The teaser is only 10 seconds long; however, the showcased device’s battery capacity was filled by almost 1% point during that time frame. Based on the clip, we infer that this Thunder charge system will most likely deliver a 180W power rating.

This would be the fastest charging Infinix has done yet, but the official power delivery numbers are still unknown. Looking back at 2021, Infinix claimed that the 160W fast charging could fill up a 4,000 mAh battery in under 10 minutes. Currently, no retail unit has been launched in the market with this new tech; however, Infinix recently dropped its fastest charging Note 12 VIP in many global markets, including Pakistan.

The Note 12 VIP supports 120W Hyper charging that can juice up its beefy 4,500 mAh battery from 0 to 100% in just 17 minutes. Compared with other market contenders, Infinix seems a bit behind the competition.

Oppo has recently showcased their 240W Ultra-fast charging that could completely refill a 4,500 mAh battery in only 9 minutes. Vivo has also reserved the 200W technology for its upcoming iQOO 10 Pro, so Infinix needs to step up its game.

Let’s see what Infinix will have to offer on its upcoming devices, as we are expecting a combination of all these exciting features it showcased last year. So, stay tuned for more interesting updates.
