Infinix Smart 5 Unveiled With a 5,000 mAh Battery, Triple Camera Setup and a Drop-notch Display

The newest entry-level addition to Infinix’s portfolio, the Infinix Smart 5 was unveiled today and is supposed to arrive in India and Africa soon — following which, it should land in Pakistan based on Infinix’s typical release calendar.

While the Smart 5 is, in fact, a budget-friendly Infinix model, its display design is anything but. It features a 6.6” HD+ water-drop display surrounded by narrow bezels (narrow, at least for a budget pick). Inside its notch rests an 8MP front-facing camera, augmented with a dual front flash and intelligent beautifying algorithms.

Flip the Infinix Smart 5 over to find a chamfered back panel, textured, glossy, and painted in aqua, onyx black, and deep blue shades. The rear-facing design feels tacky and encrusted in it, are a squircle camera island and a fingerprint scanner.

Three cameras on Smart 5 by Infinix are stacked on top of each other, next to an LED flash — again, not the most aesthetically pleasing layout, and to top it off the Infinix mobile price tag is also not heavy on the pocket.

This ‘AI Triple Camera’ is triple in name only, featuring a 13MP primary camera, and two accompanying unspecified QVGA sensors that hardly inspire any confidence. Its build uses DTS audio processing for an enhanced stereo speaker experience. The Smart 5 can also be unlocked with your face.

An unnamed processor, clocked at 1.8GHz, alongside 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage (expandable up to 256GB), powers the Infinix Smart5. The internals are backed by a big 5,000 mAh battery that recharges over 10W and can last you as many as four days on its smart power-saving mode.
