Infinix Hot S5 will feature a punch-hole display, specs and images leaked

There have been some rumors floating around the web surrounding the upcoming Infinix Hot S5 which might follow the launch of the still recent Infinix S4. The phone itself, along with its partial raw spec sheet and an early render have been spotted on Google Play Console listings. If we extrapolate the brand’s previous launch schedules, the S5 might be unveiled sometime next year.

Does the recent leak suggest that Infinix might show-off the Hot S5 ahead of the expected timeline? That’s something that remains to be seen as we've just had the Infinix Hot 8 being launched in Pakistan. But we do have the confirmation on this phone having a minimal bezel display with a punch-hole in the top left serving as the housing for the front-facing camera. It is also likely that the model carries over the 32-megapixel sensor sitting on the Hot S4.

This mid-ranger packs some decent features accompanied by solid hardware. Let’s get the display out of the way first which seems like a bit of a letdown and doesn’t stack well against competitors even within the same price bracket.

The model is likely to ship with an HD 720X1600 display with a 320 PPI density, which is certainly dated. The design language could be a hair better as well. Even though it comes with a punch-hole build, the heavy chin and forehead defeat the purpose.

That said, where the phone lacks in design and screen, it makes for it with outstanding internals. It’s rocking a MediaTek P22 SoC with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. It draws power from a beefy 5,000 mAh battery. The details are scarce so we have yet to get confirmation regarding the phone’s fast-charging capabilities. And as per the leak, it is tipped to run XOS layered Android Pie out of the box.

The rumor mill hasn’t pointed to any camera details but depending on how things shake out in the next few weeks, we expect to learn more about this model soon. Do you think this mid-range offering from Infinix will live up to the hype? Let’s discuss it in the comments below.
