Huawei Y5 2019 Launched quietly with 5.71-inch Dewdrop Display and Faux Leather Finish

Huawei adds yet another member to the popular Y series. The handset is called Huawei Y5 2019 and was quietly added to the official website. The smartphone comes with a 5.71-inch screen and a Mediatek Helio A22 processor.


The latest Huawei smartphone is equipped with a 5.71-inch IPS LCD screen supporting 1520 × 720 pixels, providing you with a decent 84.6% screen-to-body ratio. At the back, there is a 13-megapixel camera with f / 1.8 aperture that delivers 1080p Full HD video. The 5MP selfie shooter on the front comes with an f / 2.2 aperture.

Huawei Y5 2019 is powered by a MediaTek's quad-core Helio A22 chipset (MT6761), paired with 2GB of RAM and 16/32 GB of built-in storage. In addition, the phone has a separate microSD card slot, which means you can easily use two SIM cards simultaneously.


The back of the Huawei Y5 2019 has a faux-leather finish that comes in a total of 3 colors, Midnight Black, Modern Black, and Amber Brown. There's also a fourth colour variant, Sapphire Blue but that does not have the leather finish on the back

The Huawei Y5 2019 has a battery capacity of 3020 mAh, enough to power 16 hours of watching videos, 74 hours of music or 10 hours of continuous web browsing on a 4G network. The charging port used is the Micro-USB. There is no fingerprint reader but it does come with the face id, limited to the front camera fixed in the water-drop notch.

The smartphone runs on the latest Android 9 Pie operating system with EMUI 9 out of the box. Technically, Huawei Y5 2019 seems much identical to the Honor 8S coming from Huawei's sub-brand, Honor. There is no pricing and availability detail yet but it is expected to cost around some 20,000 Pakistani rupees without adding taxes.
