Huawei P40 Protective Case Images Tip Familiar Design With Rectangular Camera Module

Reportedly, Huawei is planning on releasing its upcoming flagship series – the Huawei P40 at a launch event in Europe in March next year. We already got a sneak peek at the P40 line, thanks to a handful of early render leaks. These renders didn’t give us a detailed view of the camera design, but now that the TPU cover cases for Huawei P40 have been spotted, we get a closer look at the camera shape.

The Huawei P40 Pro case doesn’t paint the full picture, but the rectangular cutout for the rear quad-camera setup confirms that the camera bump will protrude ever so slightly from the rear shell.

Same as its predecessor the Huawei P30 Pro, the P40 line will be rocking an in-display fingerprint reader. And if we had to guess, you’re looking at a glass design – the build sandwiched between two glass panels.

If the case is anything to go by, the display should measure 6.1-6.2 inches. We don’t know how far Huawei is stretching the edge-to-edge OLED display sitting on the P40 Pro. Huawei can probably shave off the already-trimmed bezels further resorting to a ‘waterfall display’ and without having much effect on the overall costs. As despite new innovations & features, Huawei prices have always been competitive and affordable

Huawei P30 Pro also featured a slightly curved display, so it would make sense to carry that design choice over. And evidently, that’s what Huawei has in mind since the case features cover for the physical power button and volume rockers that’ll occupy the right side of the spine.

On the bottom, you can make out a speaker grill, alongside a cutout for the USB Type-C port. There’s no cutout for the 3.5mm headphone jack, which means Huawei lopped it off in this iteration (Huawei P30 had one). The renders don’t reveal whether the P40 will ditch the notch, but if it does, it might replace it with a punch-hole.
