They dropped the Honor X7e Plus 4G in China a couple of months ago. There’s no point in spinning off a device like this when it has only been on the market for two months. Yet Honor has now unveiled the exact device in Azerbaijan under the Honor X8e 4G title. Yes, it has the exact specs and design.
The hardware in and of itself is pretty outdated. It was bad enough that the X7e Plus had those internals. But now the X8e is also rushed to stores with an ancient Snapdragon 685 6nm chip. This is a weak SoC, and as GSMArena puts it, the 685 needs to be in a Museum.
The phone isn’t too shabby if you can look past the weak performance and the cheap LCD, though. They’ve put a Titan 7700mAh battery on this Honor new X model that has the potential to last two days per charge for light users. And there’s 45W charging backup as well.
Honor tested the cell for a 6-year lifespan until the health falls below 80%. And it’s not just the endurance either. It’s built to last. They got it tested for an IP69K rating. That’s full water immersion safety. And SGS gave it a five-star impact safety rating as well.
You get a big battery and a big 6.87” LCD. But this is just a TFT panel, and the resolution is capped at HD+ 720p. There’s a 120Hz refresh rate, so it’s not a choppy display, at least. And the screen goes all the way to 1020 nits of HBM brightness.
They did crop the screen to fit a 5MP selfie camera in the punch hole. The front camera is barely usable. But at least the rear 108MP main camera has some potential. This will do 1080p 30 FPS video rolls with HDR and AF.
There’s no card slot either. But the built-in 256GB space should be enough for most. That’s the only version you get, with 6GB RAM. This newcomer will boot to Android 16. Yes, the X8e has two speakers. There’s also a side fingerprint reader. Retailers list this Honor X8e at AZN 820 (~PKR 133,000), but there are some in Azerbaijan that sell it for AZN 688 (~PKR 114,000).
