Honor Play 20C has arrived in Pakistan, and it’s one of the few phones in our market with a rear selfie display. That’s not something you see every day on a budget phone, yet Honor has managed to do it on its Play series. The rest of its spec sheet feels ordinary. This is everything you need to know about the Play 20C.
That rear screen is just a 2.01” IPS LCD that also supports capacitive touch, by the way. So this can be used for all kinds of functions, like interactive widgets and custom wallpapers/clocks. It can show you notifications too. But you’ll get the most use out of it as a rear selfie display.
That 2” screen will help you center your shots and take selfies with the 13MP main camera. This will get much better quality than the actual 5MP front shooter. Both sides do 1080p recording. A weak chip might be the limiting factor here.
Honor new budget mobile is built around a Unisoc T610 chip, by the way. That’s just an entry-class chip with a weak 1.8GHz CPU. So they had to put an Android 16 Go system on the phone. There’s only 4GB of RAM on it. And the storage is limited to 64GB (expandable to 1TB via an SD card).
By the way, the main LCD has a 90Hz refresh rate. That’s a 6.78” 720p HD+ screen. This is an entry-tier phone, though Honor was considerate enough to put a punch-hole at the top. Of course, this is just a TFT panel, so there’s no fingerprint on it, and you won’t get deep, inky blacks either.
The fingerprint reader is actually on the side, right where the power button is. It has an IP52 rating, so we’d advise keeping it away from water. It’s pretty thick too, at 8.6 mm, and the weight is 210g, which is understandable given the large battery inside.
Honor gave the Play 20C a huge 6000mAh battery. That’s more than enough for a full day of usage. It won’t recharge very fast with just 15W charging support. The WiFi is dual-band 5GHz. And we have a Bluetooth 5.0 module inside. Honor Play 20C will cost you Rs. 34,500 in Pakistan.
