Honor introduces its latest phone-to-tablet creation in China: the Honor Magic V2. The company’s third-generation foldable phone is a true marvel of design, measuring a mere 9.9mm when folded, an astonishing 4.7mm when unfolded, and weighing in at just 231 grams.

To put this into perspective, the thinnest foldable phone before was the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2, which clocked in at 11.2mm when folded and weighed 262 grams. Honor Magic V2 has raised the bar high with its ultra-sleek chassis and portability.

One standout feature of the Magic V2 is its gearless unibody hinge mechanism, boasting a 3D-printed titanium alloy cover developed by Honor. The groundbreaking folding mechanism incorporates custom short screws in the hinge component. While there is no official ingress protection, the Magic V2 does feature P2i-coating, protecting it against water damage.

Let's talk displays. The Magic V2 boasts a stunning 7.92-inch LTPO OLED primary screen with 2,156 x 2,344 pixels resolution and a silky-smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The brightness of Honor's new foldable device peaks at up to 1,600 nits in auto mode. Honor has also implemented a remarkable 3,840Hz high-frequency PWM dimming technology to ensure flicker-free animations.

The cover screen, measuring 6.43 inches, is no slouch either. Sporting a 10-bit OLED with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, the panel matches the high-frequency PWM dimming of the primary display. It has a max of 2500 nits brightness in auto-mode. Magic V2 is the only folder with a stylus-supporting outer and inner screen.

Under the hood, the Magic V2 features Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, boasting an overclocked Cortex-X3 prime core running at a blazing 3.36 GHz. It comes with a generous 12GB of RAM and storage options of either 256GB or 512 GB. There’s also an ultimate variant with 16 Gigs of RAM and 1TB of storage.

The primary and cover display host 16MP selfie units separately. The rear camera setup, on the other hand, includes a 50MP alpha sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50MP ultrawide module with an f/2.0 aperture, and a 20MP telephoto module with 2.5x optical zoom and OIS.

The Magic V2 packs dual split cells for a total of 5000mAh capacity. It recharges at 66W and runs the latest Android 13 x MagicOS 7.2 operating system. Sporting multiple hues of Black, Silk Black, Silk Purple, and Gold, the device starts at CNY 8,999 in China (~USD 1,255 or ~PKR 344,000).
