The battery capacity on the Honor GT 2 Pro is unreal. This phone is supposed to replace the current GT Pro model that came out in April. We’ve been hearing rumors about this device for a few weeks now. The latest report had more in-depth information about its specs. Here’s all you need to know about the GT 2 Pro.
The leak came from Digital Chat Station, so we already know it’s credible. It says Honor GT 2 Pro will be carrying an 8500mAh battery. The original GT Pro had a 7200mAh cell, so you are looking at a massive size difference here. Plus, they plan to upgrade the chip.
The GT phones are pure flagship devices. We saw a Snapdragon 8 Elite on the GT Pro last time. It’s getting upgraded to Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The leaker believes the GT 2 Pro is probably getting announced in December. If that’s true, the original Pro didn’t even complete a full year in the market.
The screen on this Honor new GT model is a 1.5k resolution 6.83” panel. It’s completely flat, just like before. They will use OLED LTPS tech for the screen. So, this will be efficient on top of an already enormous battery. Of course, they will top off that display with an ultrasonic fingerprint ID again.
He didn’t go deep into the camera specs. The leaker just mentioned a 50MP main shooter and a “small telephoto.” Hopefully, we’ll hear more about GT 2 Pro’s camera setup in future leaks. The original GT Pro model had a tri 50MP image system on the back, by the way.
The screen was a 144Hz with LTPO last time. Honor used its Android 15 Magic OS 9 operating system on the original device. The leaker’s claim about GT 2 Pro getting an LTPS panel does seem like a downgrade, but the phone is surely headed for a software update to Android 16.
DCS didn’t have any charging information about the new model. Since we already have a good enough 90W wired input on the current version, it can only get better from here. We’ll know more about this device as we draw closer to launch. Keep watching the news for updates.
