Honor took wraps off the Honor 10X Lite today. The new budget phone rounds off the Honor X10 lineup that features Honor X10 and Honor X10 Max. WhatMobile already covered a series of leaks surrounding this phone that leave little to the imagination, but if you haven’t been following the story, here’s a quick recount.
Save for the processor and lack of official Google software support, the Honor 10X Lite has the makings of an otherwise decent budget phone. It’s the first Honor phone to experiment with a centered hole-punch layout (unlike its two higher-end siblings that mount the camera on a pop-up module instead). The oversized 6.67” screen is IPS LCD with a Full HD+ resolution and thin bezels all around.

There’s support for NFC and 22.5W fast charging that powers up its 5000 mAh battery. You get 128GB of storage and 4GB of memory. The rear camera combination is: 48MP main + 8MP true ultra-wide + 2MP macro + 2MP depth.
the handset is expected to arrive in Pakistan at an affordable Huawei mobile price, the caveat is the Kirin 710A mobile platform that powers the Honor 10X Lite (a recycled version of the Kirin 710 chipset that came out in 2018). Huawei’s smartphone business effectively entered a death spiral when the U.S. government cut off their chip supply. But there might be hope still for the Chinese tech giant.
The U.S. has decided to loosen the restrictions on chip-makers that sell to Huawei, on the condition that the components won’t be used for Huawei’s 5G business (Google services are still off the table.) Speculation had been floating around the web that Huawei might sell Honor to free up capital, but this new respite should be enough to put the sale on hold — hopefully, we’re seeing the last of Kirin 710.
