Xiaomi Redmi 9 Power to Go Official Next Week; Fast Snapdragon Processor, Powerful Battery, and Stereo Speakers

Xiaomi’s Redmi 9 has been their best-selling entry-level series this year. And to cap off the season, the company is introducing another edition. The Redmi 9 Power will be making its debut in India on December 17. Following which it may also launch in the neighboring countries, including Pakistan. Its teasers and event posters are already up on Xiaomi’s website.

Based on the official promotional material, the new Xiaomi Redmi 9 Power has a 48MP quad-camera, arranged in a vertical setup. The chipset inside is an unnamed Qualcomm Snapdragon platform.

A dual stereo speaker, certified by Hi-Res audio, is onboard the Redmi 9 Power too. It’s a rare feature for an entry-level phone, but Xiaomi’s new budget phones offer it. Case in point, the still-recent POCO M3.

Redmi 9 Power comes in four color options — charcoal, blue, orange, and green. That is all the details Xiaomi has confirmed pre-launch, but the rumors surrounding the phone are more telling.

Reasonable speculation says the Xiaomi new model Redmi 9 Power is a tweaked version of the Redmi Note 9 4G (which is also available in the same four color options). It has the internal hardware and screen specifications of the Redmi Note 9 4G (or the POCO M3, for that matter).

You’re looking at a 6.53” 1080P LCD that’s rarer-still in the entry-level segment. An ultra-wide 8MP camera accompanies the 48MP primary one, next to an extra 2MP ‘depth’ sensor for software-generated portrait blur. Plus, an 8MP selfie camera inside a notch.

Under the hood, we find the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 chipset that came out in January this year. A giant 6000 mAh battery with 18W fast charging support backs up the hardware. WhatMobile expects the Redmi 9 Power to start from Rs. 25,999.
