Redmi is gearing up to introduce the Redmi 9 series at affordable Xiaomi prices before July ends. Citing its sources, the source reports that the launch might be scheduled earlier than July 25, since the Redmi 9 is already in stock in their supply chain stores.

The source also details the Redmi 9 key specifications and pricing for the upcoming budget device. As per the publication, the Redmi 9 has a notched screen, a 3D curved profile, and a quad-camera arranged inside a pill-shaped vertical housing. A round fingerprint scanner is also part of this strip.

The rear shell comes in Grey, Sunset Purple, and Green shades, though it’s more matte-like than glossy (except for the circular silhouette surrounding the camera bump).

The screen is a 6.53-inch IPS LCD panel that produces an FHD+ resolution. Judging from the live shots, the bezels surrounding this screen are light around the edges and heavy around the chin. The new leaked images corroborate the hands-on images published by SlashLeaks.

The camera setup features a 13MP primary sensor, rounded off by an 8MP module (possibly an ultra-wide camera), a 5MP camera, and a 2MP depth-assist sensor, while the front-camera remains a mystery. The fourth camera – likely the 2MP depth lens resides inside a secondary pill, along with the LED flash.

The phone is powered by a MediaTek Helio G80 processor that works with 3GB + 32GB and 4GB + 64GB configurations. The former edition starts at $139 (22,000 PKR without taxes), and the latter will retail for $149 or 24,000 PKR without taxes. Its 5,000 mAh battery is inherited from the Redmi 8A, which could support 18W fast charging. Speculation has it that the Redmi 9 will debut in Vietnam, China, and India first.
